MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS

  • The curriculum for the middle school student calls for a continuation of the same methods as those used in elementary in the development of essential skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies; yet, it also provides variety and the opportunity to explore new fields of interest. An essential part of the middle school curriculum is to develop opportunities for students to understand more about themselves and their relations with others at these crucial years.

Students in middle school participate in the required subjects of English language arts/reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and physical education. Additionally, they are offered the option of electives such as art, band, choral music, theatre arts, speech, Spanish, Life Management Skills, Technology Applications, and Career Connections. Students in grades seven and eight may choose to participate in athletics rather than physical education.
