     The Vital Link program is made possible through Birdville ISD's partnership with the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce.

    Vital Link offers the opportunity for students to participate in business internships during one week of summer between their seventh and eighth grade year. The Vital Link summer program is held during the first week of summer break, Monday through Thursday. Transportation to and from internship sites is to be provided by the parents. The Vital Link internships will last one week for approximately three hours each day from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Participating students are assigned to one of several participating businesses in the area. During the time on site, students have an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the real world of work. It is not intended to be career specific; rather, it is hoped that students encounter generic real-world experiences that help motivate them to further excellence in their academic endeavors.
