Curriculum in the elementary schools is taught through instructional programs that are research based, relevant and challenging. Required content areas included in the curriculum are reading/integrated language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health, physical education, and fine arts that includes theatre arts, music, and art.

The reading/integrated language arts program is literature based and built on the connections between reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and just as problem solving and critical, are woven throughout all content areas.

In developing mathematical concepts, teachers lead students through the developmental stages of cognition from the concrete to the abstract--moving from using models to reproducing, interpreting, and creating them, providing students with a solid foundation so that future understandings can be built and expanded upon. Science is taught with the inquiry process--involving students with hands-on learning--by observing, questioning, generating hypotheses, testing, and evaluating.

The spiraling social studies curriculum begins with the child's relationship to others and his home, broadening to include the community, state, nation, and world.

The elementary program is designed to develop students academically, aesthetically, and physically through the teaching of art, music, health, and physical education across the disciplines by classroom teachers and specialists.

Technology is also utilized throughout the instructional program by both students and staff to facilitate and enhance learning and understanding. Other programs offered for identified students include Pre-kindergarten, BRAVO, Bilingual/ESL, EXCEL, and Special Education.
