• Welcome to the Birdville ISD Safety Zone website.

The safety of our students, staff, and others is always a top priority in Birdville ISD. We follow well-established safety protocols which we practice on a routine basis.

Birdville ISD encompasses an area of 40 square miles. We partner with the Haltom City Police Department, Hurst Police Department, North Richland Hills Police Department, Richland Hills Police Department, and Watauga Police Department. The partnership with our cities brings us 11 School Resource Officers (SROs). These officers are fully commissioned and armed law enforcement officers.

All campuses conduct safety drills that exceed the recommendations of the Texas School Safety Center to routinely affirm safety protocols as well as establish a clear chain of command. Students and staff practice drills regularly and document their procedures to ensure best practices are in place. Reviews of safety procedures are conducted each year of all district facilities. Plans and interaction reports are reviewed monthly by the Student Services Department. As required by the governor, all exterior doors were reviewed at the beginning of the school year and are under routine inspection by our expert locksmiths, meeting and surpassing the mandated requirement.

Since each school and facility is unique, every individual school has an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that addresses its procedures. The plan is reviewed by the school’s safety committee, which is responsible for examining campus processes.

Birdville ISD uses an anonymous reporting system, , that is monitored 24 hours a day. Any student, staff, or community member may report an incident of bullying, discrimination, drug or alcohol-related issue, potential threat/violence, or cyber abuse by text, image, or video through our system.
