Information for Neighbors:

• Â鶹¹ÙÍø must accelerate the merger of David E. Smith and W.T. Francisco elementary schools two years earlier than first expected. All students zoned to these two campuses will attend school on the current Francisco Elementary site beginning with the 2023–24 school year. The school’s new name will be David E. Smith Elementary School. 

• The change resulted after a topographical survey revealed the new school approved by voters in the 2022 bond program cannot be built behind the original campus as first planned due to potential flooding of neighboring properties. 

• The existing Smith Elementary site will be closed for construction for the next two years. 

• Â鶹¹ÙÍø is planning a celebration event at the current Smith Elementary campus later this spring to allow the community and alumni the opportunity to walk the halls one last time. We will share more details once they are available.
