    Information for Staff:

    • No staff will lose their jobs as a result of this early merger. Some staff may be assigned to a different campus for the 2023–24 school year. 

    • Principal Angela Limon of W.T. Francisco is replacing the retiring principal at the Academy at C.F. Thomas Elementary for the 2023–24 school year. 

    • David E. Smith Elementary Principal Amanda Holman will serve as principal for the newly merged school community on the site of the current Francisco Elementary School. 

    • Â鶹¹ÙÍø must accelerate the merging of the David E. Smith and W.T. Francisco elementary schools two years earlier than first expected. All students zoned to these two campuses will attend the existing Francisco Elementary building beginning with the 2023–24 school year. The campus name will be David E. Smith Elementary. 

    • The change resulted after a topographical survey revealed the new school approved by voters in the 2022 bond program cannot be built behind the original campus as first planned due to potential flooding of neighboring properties.
