September 18, 2023, Weekly Overview for Binion Bobcats

Hello! Bobcat Parents/Guardians

I hope this message finds you having a great week!  Last week was filled with a lot of exciting activities and we have another week of activities and events for our Binion Bobcat Fam!

Parents, a gentle reminder that cafeteria doors will open at 7:30 a.m. daily for breakfast, school starts at 8:00 a.m., and the tardy bell is 8:10 a.m.  Please let’s try to have students at school before 8:00 a.m. to avoid them being late and being tardy to school. Remember that 6 unexcused tardies equal one unexcused absence.  Thanks for your support in this matter.

We will have an attendance challenge this week! It will run from September 18 – September 22! The classes with 98% or Higher this week will receive a Pop Corn Party the following week! Let’s see which class can win!! Let’s Go Bobcats!

Good News Club Application(attached), the first meeting will be September 21, 2023. Attached below is a Parent Permission Form in both the English and Spanish language.  To register your student(s) so they can attend the Good News Club that is offered at Binion for a 10-week period on Thursdays, print off the appropriate form and complete it.  Have your student turn in the form to the school’s office.  Multiple students in a household can be included in a single form.  A Good News Club is an internationally popular after-school program.

Wednesday, September 20, 2023: Early Release Day for Students--Elementary (PK–Grade 5) 8:00 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.

Thursday, September 21, 2023: Binion Fall Picture Day. Don’t forget to put on your beautiful smile!!

Monday: Binion Bobcats show Peaceful, Loving, and Kind! Wear a Tie-Dye shirt or a shirt expressing kindness.

Tuesday: Binion Bobcats are One Team, One Goal! Wear your favorite sports team shirt or colors.

Wednesday: Binion Bobcats are Ambitious! Wear your dream job attire or dress to impress.

Thursday: Binion Bobcats are silly, humorous, & funny! Wear Silly, Funny, or Crazy Socks

Friday: We are Binion Strong! Wear school colors and /or a school shirt.

Other Relevant Information:

• Ways to help your students at home…. Parents, please work with your students on their math facts (addition, subtraction, and/or multiplication). For the younger grades, please work on counting objects and learning the alphabet, colors, and shapes. Please visit our webpage with resources: /domain/10720
• Parents are allowed to start having lunch with their students. We love it when you come to eat lunch with your child!  It makes them happy and us happy for them! We just want to provide this friendly reminder to comply with district guidelines and student safety. Please have lunch with your child(ren) only.  Please do not allow their friend(s) to join you. We also appreciate you and your child sitting at the designated table(s). Please do not take pictures or videos while in the cafeteria. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact a school administrator.
